About mJordanCodes

A history of problem solving

I fell into web development by accident—or maybe as a side effect of my stubborn streak. While studying web design at art school in San Francisco, I kept creating layouts that my instructors insisted weren’t buildable. But I knew I had seen similar designs out in the wild, so I set out to prove them wrong. I dove headfirst into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, determined to bring my ideas to life.

What started as a quest to challenge my instructors quickly became an obsession. The more I learned, the more intricate my designs became, pushing the limits of what was possible on the web. I became fascinated by CSS tricks, cross-browser compatibility hacks, and interactive experiences that made websites feel alive.

Eventually, I left art school to fully embrace web development, taking a few community college courses but mostly teaching myself through relentless trial, error, and discovery.

A Decade of Development

I landed my first web development job in 2014 at a small web and design agency in Southern California. For a little over a year, I soaked up everything I could from the developers and designers around me, eager to sharpen my skills and expand my creative problem-solving toolkit.

Since then, my career has been fueled by my drive to keep learning and evolving. I’ve worked with scrappy early-stage startups, massive enterprise companies, and everything in between—balancing it all with freelance projects and teaching. No matter the setting, I’m always excited to explore new technologies, push creative boundaries, and bring ideas to life.
