A recap of my goals:
- Create 30 sellable products (5/30 completed)
- Launch my website (Almost there!)
- Launch online store (Done! 🎉)
- First sale (It happened!)
I’m a little behind on creating sellable products, but I’ve already launched my Etsy store and even made my first sale—so overall, I’d say I’m ahead of schedule! My website is also nearly ready to launch; the base pages and design are in place, and I’m just wrapping up content. (Technically, it’s live, but since I haven’t officially shared the link, it doesn’t count yet!)
My first sale!
For a while, family members have told me they love my handmade books and would totally buy them—but that always felt like the kind of thing family has to say when you gift everyone handmade books for the holidays. I’d even had a few people on Instagram comment that they’d buy my work if I ever made it available, but always just added those items to my “one day” pile.
Then, just the other day, someone sent me a DM asking if the altered Little Golden Book Unicorn journal I posted about was for sale—it would make the perfect gift for a friend. That was the push I needed! Within 24 hours, I pivoted my focus, launched my Etsy store, and listed the Unicorn Journal for sale. Before announcing the shop publicly, I messaged the person who inquired to give them first dibs.
Within an hour of sending the message, she bought it! I still can’t believe it.
What’s Next?
With my original goals coming along so well, I’m officially adding a new challenge: applying for an in-person art market!
- Create 25+ more sellable products
- Announce website launch
- Apply for an in-person art market
- 75 More days of making “one day” TODAY!
